She will be offering 20-minute colour analysis at the centre’s style booth, helping people find their perfect palette; colours and shades, seasons and sub-season, make-up shades, best metals and jewellery, best hair colour and tones to avoid. Stylist Bridget Hudson is also on deck for autumn/winter styling sessions and there will be complimentary beauty and skincare consultations with experts from Mecca, Estee Lauder, David Jones and others. Hallédays When Emma Hall couldn’t find a beauty salon in Perth that nailed all of her needs, she decided to open it herself. The result is nail and beauty salon Hallédays, a stylish new space in Mount Lawley that specialises in the Russian E-File manicure — a technique that makes nails look and last longer. Pino’s Empanadas These tasty golden parcels are a South American crowd-pleaser and now, Perth has its own empanada bakery on Rokeby Road, Subiaco. The delicacy, a homemade pastry wrapped around sweet and savoury fillings, varies between countries, and Pino’s draws on a number of influences for its 12 flavours, from spiced beef, curry chicken and barbecue pork to dulce de leche brownie, apple pie and a vegan option, as well as five sauces. Brooke and Axel Pino decided to bring the taste of Axel’s home country of Chile to Perth and the new bakery will start as a takeaway spot. INXS Reimagined This tribute to the iconic rock band by Perth Symphony Orchestra had a sell-out season in 2023, is back for a one-night-only encore at Crown Theatre. Performed with a full orchestra, choir and solo singers, the show celebrates the music of the Aussie band of Michael Hutchence, Andrew, Tim, and Jon Farriss, Garry Gary Beers and Kirk Pengilly. The set list will include INXS classics, from Devil Inside to Never Tear Us Apart. The show is on June 14, tickets are on sale now at perthsymphony.com. Blackwood River Arts Trail More than 100 artists in areas including Nannup, Bridgetown-Greenbushes, Donnybrook-Balingup and Boyup Brook will open their home studios to the public as part of this event, now in its fifth year. There will also be exhibitions in more than 30 venues, including cafes, gardens, small galleries and other spaces, as well as the Blackwood River Film Festival in Balingup. Work is on display from both established and emerging artists, including its youngest participant, eight-year-old Charlie Barker and his pencil and charcoal drawings.
