Authorities are advising people to stay away from an out-of-control bushfire in Elleker, about 13km west of Albany, that is believed to have been deliberately lit.

The fire, which started near the corner of Lower Denmark Road and Elleker-Grassmere Road and is moving in a northerly direction, was first reported at 11am on Tuesday by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and Parks and Wildlife.

There is currently no threat to lives or homes, but DBCA is urging people to avoid the area.

Lower Denmark Road between the Elleker townsite and Prescottvale Road is closed along with Elleker-Grasmere Road north of Muttonbird Road.

Diversions are in place and bus services will be escorted through to regular stops.
