Kojonup captain and Southern Smash draftee Liam Want went ballistic on Saturday blasting the fastest century in Great Southern Cricket Association history.

Want plundered an unbeaten 104 runs from just 37 balls in the final T20 match of the season to book his side a spot in the final.

The aggressive top-order batter faced just six dot balls in his swashbuckling innings and cleared the rope seven times while cracking 13 fours before the Cougars passed Katanning Wanderers’ first innings total of 126 in the 10th over.

Tigers pair Brock Green and captain Ryan Sinclair copped the worst of Want’s wrath, both being smashed for 19 off each of their only overs.

Want’s special day started early after he won the toss and sent the Tigers in before making an immediate impact by catching Green off the bowling of Lee Lucev on the first ball of the match.

Opener Peter Anderson consolidated with a crucial run-a-ball 30 while No.3 Tyron Pinney scored an unbeaten but agonisingly slow 33.

Caleb Keley tried to pick up the slack by quilting three maximums and a four in his 12-ball 30 before Joe Raynor scored 12 runs off as many balls as the Tigers ended their innings 6-126.

Harry Taylor (2-22) and Peter Robertson (2-31) led the Cougars bowling attack.

Kendenup youngster Jared Ballard belted a rapid century to steer his side to a huge first innings total in their 83-run win over Australs North at home.

Ballard smoked eight fours and five sixes in his 63-ball 110 as the hosts posted 4-194 in their 20 overs.

Jarrad Beach chipped in with a busy 30no from 24 balls as Kendenup’s other main contributor.

In reply, Lions openers Kane Scott (29) and Archie Atwell (62) combined for a 71-run stand but were starved of contributions with no other batter scoring more than five runs, as four ducks tarnished their scorecard.

Jeremy Groves took 4-14 from four overs to lead the Kendenup attack.

Broomehill notched an eight-wicket win over Tambellup to advance into the decider against the Cougars.

The Bandicoots won the toss and bowled and held Tambellup to 4-118.

Connor Hawkins scored 53 from 45 including three sixes and three fours while Shane Willmott scored a patient 35.

Mac Crichton was very economical, leaking just 13 runs from his four overs.

Reliable openers Jack Batchelor and James Barritt quickly ate into Tambellup’s score.

Batchelor scored 36 from 21 and James Barritt contributed 30 from 24 deliveries before David Hinchcliffe belted five sixes and a four in his brilliant unbeaten 41 from 20 balls as the Bandicoots took less than 14 overs to chase Tambellup’s score.

Broomehill will travel to Kojonup to take on the Cougars in the T20 decider on Friday, December 20, under lights starting at 7pm.
