Allstars crush Stingers in Broome touch elimination final clash

The top teams of the Broome touch rugby competition have hit their stride, racking up some impressive wins in the first elimination and qualifying final round.

In division one on Thursday, October 27, the Stingers were crushed in their elimination final match up with the Allstars.

The Allstars ran rings around the Stingers, scoring eight tries in the second half while the Stingers failed to score once, losing by nine points, 11-2.

Czack Bero was the best try scorer for the Allstars scoring four, while Jessica Healy was the top scorer for the Stingers scoring both of their tries.

Then it was down to the wire in the elimination final between the Runaways and the Pirates, with the Runaways scraping home 10-9.

Harry O’Shannessy has the top scorer for the Pirates, with five tries, while Fletcher Ghandour, Seth Lovell, Elle Fong and Joanne Dick all landed two each from the Runaways.

In division two, the Primewest Panthers defeated the Good Palpations in the qualifying final 12-6.

Samuel Burke was the top scorer for the Good Palpations scoring three tries and Ashlea Thompson led the try scoring for Primewest Panthers with four.

The Triple 0’s defeated the Exploders by five tries in their qualifying final clash, 13-8.

Graham Chapman, Amy Quartermaine and Jodi Buckle tied for best scorer for the Exploders with two tries each while Harry Wheoki was the Triple 0’s top scorer with four.

The Untouched demolished the ARAC Attack 18-8.

Brayden Tolentino, Yarlalu Thomas and Rahamat Bin Bakar (three tries each) were equal top scorers for the Untouched, with Amanda Gatt and Rachel Webster each scoring four for ARAC Attack.

The Animals claimed an 11-8 victory over the Scoregasms in their elimination final match.

Clare Kavanagh (four) was the top try scorer for the Animals,while Jade O’Donnell notched up six to lead the Scoregasms’ try tally.
