Broome Little Athletics in impressive 35 medal haul at WA Country Championships

Broome Little Athletics has again proved why it’s one of the town’s most highly regarded clubs, smashing the competition at the WA Country Championships and bringing home 35 medals.

Held in Kalgoorlie in late January, nine Broome families making up a combined total of 18 athletes made the more-than-3000km round trip to win themselves a spot in the coveted 2022 WA Little Athletics State Championships.

Training three times a week for 10 weeks in the lead-up to the tournament, their impressive efforts were rewarded with a massive 19 gold medals, 10 silver medals and six bronze.

Every athlete in the team landed themselves a spot at the State championships, due to be held in March at the WA Athletics Stadium.
