Broome Sports Association receives $75,000 State Government grant to help Broome athletes reach full potential

Broome athletes will get help to develop their skills and reach their full potential after the State Government announced a $75,000 grant to the Broome Sports Association. The association will put the funding towards its Broome talent development program, which currently has 34 athletes participating across 10 sports. They take part in strength and conditioning, nutrition and injury prevention training, as well as Pilates sessions. Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman said the funding would help ensure regional athletes had the same opportunity as their city counterparts. “You only need to look at the recent selections for the 2022 Commonwealth Games to see that some of our greatest athletes come from WA’s regions,” he said. The grant came from the State-wide regional athlete support program.
