A bus crashed and destroyed the fence of a property backing on to Clementson Street in Broome last night after the driver had a medical episode while operating the vehicle.

At around 6pm on Thursday (June 27), a bus veered off Clementson Street before crashing through a fence and into the outer wall of a house.

In an official statement, Broome Explorer Bus said the driver lost consciousness after suffering a medical episode while behind the wheel.

“Emergency services responded in a timely manner and did everything possible to make the situation as safe as possible,” they said.

“No one in the incident was injured, the bus had no passengers on board and all the occupants of the house were unharmed.
