Coaches beam with pride ahead of annual in-house competition for the Pearl Coast Gymnastics Club
Pearl Coast Gymnastics Club is set to host their annual in-house competition this coming weekend, with more than 80 athletes ready to compete in their first for the season.
Donning their blue-and-black uniforms, the young gymnasts from level two to seven will compete for a spot to represent their hometown in regional and State competitions later this year.
Ranging from ages five to 14, it will be the first time level seven athletes compete in a Pearl Coast event.
Pearl Coast head coach Amber Rann said it was a great achievement to have such high-level athletes competing for a regional club, with extra training held throughout the school holidays to make sure the athletes were fully prepared.
“As a regional club we lack facilities and equipment, but with resilience and hard work these athletes have overcome these challenges,” she said.
“All our athletes are really looking forward to this upcoming competition as they have all been working very hard to master the skills in all their levels.”
The event will be held over two days — May 13 and 14 — at Broome Senior High School on Frederick Street.
