James Hagan crowned comeback king with return win in Modlites at Broome Speedway

It was an action packed night at Broome Speedway on Saturday with drivers taking to the track and tearing it up.

The Modlites saw the return of James Hagan after a two year hiatus and he certainly had not lost his skill, taking top place on the podium in front of Anna Elliott in second place and newcomer Mark Murray in third.

Murray also took third spot in the Street Stocks race just behind Jim Dixon in second place and Jake Hoath in first.

Dylan McLaughlin came first in the Productions race as Andy Norton and Courtney Raynor both had to bow out due to mechanical issues.

The Super Sedans were back this round with Phil Barton taking out the win, closely followed by Tom Oliver in second and Aaron Jeffery, also known as Ranga, rounding out the pack with his new machine in third place.

The Wingless vehicles hit the track with Bradley Minshull and Tim Taylor neck and neck, tussling for the lead and Jose Glasson trailing behind before Minshull pulled out in front and took the win.

The juniors were putting their pedal to the metal on Saturday night also with leads changing several times throughout the races.

The girls continued to dominate in the Junior Go Kart races with Michelle Rainey-Barton taking the win closely followed by Piper Radke and Carlia Rainey-Barton.

Steven Kirk won the Junior Quarter Midgets with Lincoln Hoath in second place and Isaac Pigram closely behind in third.

The New Star Juniors also battled it out on the tracks with the boys taking out the top three spots this time with Ayden Mills crossing the finish line first and Luke Bailey and Sam Mills following in second and third place

Nick Bonham raced across the line first to take the win in the Top Stars Juniors.

Broome Speedway’s next event will be the Modlite National Titles which will be held on Friday May 27 and Saturday May 28.
