Keifer Yu does it again, scores 11 goals for Cable Beach Greenbacks

It was a round of thrashings over the weekend in WKFL with the Looma Eagles suffering a 134-point loss as the competition returns after a bye week.

First up, the Broome Towns smashed the Peninsula Bombers at Father McMahon Oval on Friday night.

It was a close first half until the Towns ran away with the match in the second half, handing the Bombers a 72-point loss, 15.15 (105) to 5.3 (33).

Benjamin Goldie, Matthew Blackley, Sean Gregory, Troy Douglass and Scott Howieson were named the best players for the Towns this round. Liam Bedford scored the most goals for the Towns, slotting three over the course of the match.

The Cable Beach Greenbacks continued to dominate after returning from the bye last week, crushing the Looma Eagles by 134 points.

Keifer Yu was a powerhouse for Cable Beach, slotting 11 of the team’s 25 goals in a spectacular display of skill.

The Looma side only managed to score four goals against the Greenbacks, all of which were in the first half.

The Eagles failed to make a score in the second half of the match, letting Cable Beach run away with the match and losing the game 4.1 (25) to 25.9 (159).

Yu, Damon Enosa, Will Fong, Steven Garlett and Wesleigh Hatch were the best players for Cable Beach with Yu also scoring the most goals for the match.

The Broome Saints also suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Bidyadanga Emus down at Bidyadanga Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints consistently scored throughout the match but could not catch up to the Bidyadanga team, who stayed well in front for the whole game, defeating the Saints by 67 points, 16.17 (113) to 7.4 (46).

Phillip Sibosado, Leroy Pigram, Selwyn Hunter, Johann Jack and Luke Puertollano were named the best players for the Broome Saints. Hunter also scored the most goals for the team, slotting four over the course of the match.

The best players for the winning side were Andre Kitty, Jevahnis Badal, Huzlemi Hunter, Ashley Bal Bal and Dylan Lennard. Badal also kicked the most goals for the Bidyadanga Emus, scoring three.
