Our star AFL players from the Kimberley were thin on the ground at the weekend, with just two of our talented local football legends taking to the field in round 15.

Ashley Johnson from Halls Creek was once again in Collingwood’s forward line, helping the Magpies soar to another victory, this time against Adelaide.

Johnson’s half brother Shane McAdam was missing for the Crows in the evenly matched fixture, with the Magpies taking home the victory by just two points, 12.10 (82) to 11.14 (80).

Johnson kicked a goal in the first quarter, bringing his season total to 15, before being replaced by Beau McCreery at three-quarter-time.

That was after Nick Murray of the Crows took a spectacular mark over the top of Johnson.

Sam Petrevski-Seton also took to the field over the weekend in West Coast’s devastating 171-point defeat to Sydney, 31.19 (205) to 5.4 (34).

The Kimberley product managed to get eight touches and land three tackles but his performance - along with the rest of the Eagles line-up - was sub-par to say the least.

Unfortunately, there was no sign of our other Kimberley AFL regulars including Jy Farrar for Gold Coast in their win over Hawthorn, Bailey Banfield for Fremantle in their victory over Essendon and Callum Ah Chee for Brisbane in their win against St Kilda.
