It was a night of nailbiters and upsets at the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre in round three of the Broome Basketball Association’s spring competition on November 2.

In the A-grade men’s competition, the Skywalkers took down rivals the Kings in a heated match, defeating the runner-up championship team by 15 points in an upset, 44 to 29.

Due to not having enough players, the Bindoowa Bulls forfeited their match against the Gantheaume Pointers, handing the Pointers an easy win, 20-0, while newcomers Odash managed to fend off the Broome Gators, winning their match by 20 points, 52-32.

In the social women’s competition, the Crystals took home the win after a nailbiter against the Broome Blitzers, defeating them by just a single point, 22-21.

The Greenback Beaches were dominant in their clash with the Sharks, beating them by 19 points, 30-11.

In the socials men’s competition, the Vipers squeezed the win from the Pearlers with an easy 20 point victory, 68-48.

The Misfits took down the Spoonbills in a tight match that went down to the wire with the Misfits winning by just three points, 44-41.
