Spinifex Ale House: Cable Beach venue by Spinifex Brewing Co. receives funding boost for grand opening

Broome’s highly anticipated Spinifex Ale House is on track for its grand opening in Cable Beach later this year, with the State Government granting the local business a substantial grant towards its development. Currently under construction and expected to finish in November for a December opening, the family friendly microbrewery and alehouse received a $1.98 million boost as part of the State Government’s Investment Attraction Fund. The initiative aims to encourage new investments and developments to create local jobs and opportunities for a diversified economy, with Spinifex Brewing Co. being one of two Kimberley businesses to receive funding. With an accessible and versatile outdoor area for continuous activations, a jumbo stage for live entertainment, and a state-of-the-art outdoor screen to watch movies and sports, the venue will be one of Broome’s must-visit hotspots. Spinifex Brewing Co. chief executive Adam Barnard said he’s humbled to receive the grant, highlighting the business’ push for hiring locally and providing an all-year-round experience for the community. “The most exciting thing is Broome finally has a location for everybody,” he said. “It’s not just a pub — our intention is to make this a community hub, which is why we’ve invested significantly in the kids playground and function spaces to create something completely unique for Broome.” In accordance with the WA Government’s economic diversification framework, Diversify WA, Spinifex Brewing Co. will work with Broome’s North Regional TAFE Hospitality Centre to engage with the students and provide work experience opportunities. In addition to featuring the 6HL Flying Foam brewery and artisan hybrid pizza oven, the venue will also include Gubinge forest to harvest native Indigenous botanicals to use in their non-alcoholic beverages. Open seven days a week, the kitchen will operate all day for service focusing on healthy meals and salads, with plans to open a fresh outdoor juice bar later next year. Spinifex Ale House is expected to open in early December on Sanctuary Road in Cable Beach.
