A young woman has died and three others, including a five-year-old child, are in hospital following a devastating car rollover in the State’s north on Friday.

The crash happened between 10pm and 11pm in Dampier Peninsula, as a Mitsubishi Triton was travelling north on the Broome-Cape Leveque Road, approximately 40 kilometres south of the Djarindjin Community.

Police said the car veered off the road and rolled before striking a tree.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman died at the scene from the impact.

Her passengers, a five-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man, and 24-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the Broome hospital for treatment.
