Yellowfields festival organisers keen on running it back in 2025, following success this year

The group that brought a Mid West festival to life is hopeful the event will return in 2025, after its success on the weekend. Yellowfields festival made Nabawa Oval in Chapman Valley the musical hub of the State at the weekend, with people travelling far and wide to attend. Local and national acts took to the stage at the festival, which was the brainchild of the Nabawa Valley Tavern. Aussie music star Shannon Noll was the headline act. Tavern owner Kristina Drage said the response from the community was overwhelming. “We’re absolutely blown away by the incredible support the community has shown for Yellowfields this year,” she said. “With almost 3000 people attending, it’s clear that there’s a strong appetite for events like this in Chapman Valley. “The atmosphere on the day was just amazing and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along, as well as the performers and volunteers who helped make the event such a success.” Thousands camped overnight for the festival, while others caught the bus from Geraldton to attend. The weekend involved passionate singing, dancing and battling the wind. From Beccy Cole bringing out her son to perform with her on stage, to Adam Brand performing an off-the-cuff medley, each singer brought their own flavour to the festival. Noll brought up 2024 Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright to sing What About Me. Yellowfields’ success is despite regional festivals in WA dwindling. The You & Me festival set for Bunbury on New Year’s Eve was the latest to be axed with organisers announcing last Friday it would not go ahead. Despite cancellations in other parts of the State, Ms Drage said her team was already looking at bringing back the festival in 2025. “While we don’t have any details to share just yet, we’re already looking ahead to planning another Yellowfields next year,” she said. “It’s been fantastic to see such a positive response and we’re committed to building on this year’s success to create another great experience for our community.”
