Denmark Senior High School Year 11 and 12 students endure wild weather for special night at 2025 school ball

Denmark Senior High School’s Year 11 and 12 students got ready for a night of glamour at the Old Dairy for the annual school ball on March 8, dressing up for a night of dinner, drinks and dancing to remember. The Old Dairy in Torbay played host to the two cohorts of students for the night, with Year 11 and 12 students taking a night off from study to celebrate their final years of schooling together. The Old Dairy was the perfect location to fit the vintage theme, despite wet weather forcing attendees to spend most of their night inside instead of enjoying the stunning Torbay scenery as nearby Albany reported its wettest day on record. Students enjoyed mocktails and a two-course dinner in the rustic venue before slipping off their shoes and loosening their ties and taking to the dance floor for the remainder of the night. Awards were given on the night for best-dressed students, with Zee Walker taking home best suit, Cheyenne Patterson and Hunter Lynam tying for best dress, Harry Farrall and Murphy Dowse voted best couple, and Zac Dua winning staff choice. Denmark Senior High School principal Kath Ward said even less-than-ideal weather on the night couldn’t stop the students and teachers making the ball a night to remember. “Not even the wind, the rain or the power outages dampened their spirits,” she said.
