Broome’s women in business network is relaunching as Broome Business Belles next week, aiming to better serve a membership of more than 200 with improved networking, marketing and professional development opportunities.

Since 2010 the group amassed a large membership who took part in networking events, enjoyed making business and social contacts and contributed to local charities through fundraising.

Having reinvented with greater capacity, directors Natasha Mahar and Deb Gibson will launch Broome Business Belles on August 30.

Ms Mahar said their research had shown most cities and towns had some form of businesswomen’s network, and they decided Broome shouldn’t be missing out.

She said the group was a business organisation connecting women in the Kimberley through networking, sharing ideas and raising money for local charities.

It will also be a platform for women to find connections or recommendations, to share knowledge, information and other opportunities such as promoting a community cause, a new product or business release.

“Most of all, Broome Business Belles will encourage women in business to connect and inspire one another so we can all grow together in our remote North West community,” Ms Mahar said.

Participants will be surveyed to research what Broome’s business women wanted from the group.

The launch will be held at The Billi from 5.30pm on Thursday, August 30. Tickets are $40 and include drinks and canapes.
