Birds fly in to Broome

NICOLA KALMARBroome Advertiser

A huge announcement helping to kick off Broome’s dry season gig calendar is that ARIA winning Perth alternative rock outfit Birds of Tokyo will perform one of this year’s most anticipated gigs - at the Mangrove Resort Hotel on May 19.

Since forming in 2004, band members Ian Kenny, Adam Spark, Ian Berney, Adam Weston and Glenn Sarangapany have enjoyed sweeping success with their debut album Day One, and subsequent albums Universes and Birds of Tokyo.

It wasn’t long ago, on Australia Day as we counted down Triple J’s annual Hottest 100 poll – and rocked out with three Birds anthems, including the smash hit Plans, which made number 4.

No strangers to Broome, the guys are set to return in spectacular style with a special one-off performance.
