Broome gets Happy for community video
The atmosphere was contagious at the Broome Civic Centre last night, with excited residents flocking to catch a glimpse of themselves shaking their tail feathers across the big screen.
The #HappyBroome campaign was officially launched with the first screening of a film clip featuring local residents showcasing their town through a dance to the tune of Happy by Pharrell Williams.
While not everyone could make the final cut, organisers Tilly Millican and Rebecca Love, who are both work for a real estate agent in the town, screened a half hour of outtakes to keep the crowd entertained.
There were bursts of laughter and cheers from the crowd as prominent businessmen and women joined hands in a waltz and took time out of their busy days to boogie in front of the camera.
Residents are being encouraged to share the film clip, which went live on YouTube this morning. Other uniquely Broome photos and videos can also be shared via Facebook link #HappyBroome.
