Buswell’s expertise, Drive welcomed by fishing sector

Andrew RolandBroome Advertiser

Recfishwest has welcomed the appointment of Troy Buswell as the State’s new Fisheries Minister.

Minister Buswell takes over the key portfolio from the retired Norman Moore, who developed a fantastic working relationship with the peak body for recreational fishing in WA.

Recfishwest expects this relationship to continue to grow with Mr Buswell, a Busselton local who has himself been a keen recreational fisher for many years.

Recreational fishing is an important way of life for many West Australians, and Recfishwest is confident that Mr Buswell has the expertise and drive to achieve great things for the recreational fishing sector in years to come.

Recfishwest representatives will be meeting with Mr Buswell in the near future to discuss the many issues facing recreational fishing and fishers in WA.

Recfishwest also appreciates Mr Moore’s efforts in working to improve recreational fishing in WA during his time as Fisheries Minister.

During his time in the role, Mr Moore played a key part in facilitating ongoing projects such as mulloway restocking in the South-West, prawn restocking in the metro area and the new artificial reef trials off Bunbury and Dunsborough.
