The inaugural Broome Camel Cup was so successful, it will be marketed Australia-wide next year, according to organisers.

Red Sun Camels managing director John Geappen, one of the main organisers of the event, said about 3500 people turned up at the Broome Turf Club on Saturday to take part in the action.

"There was a good crowd and I have been getting some fantastic feedback," he said.

"No camels got injured, no jockeys got injured and everyone went home happy."

Mr Geappen said the focus next would be making the event bigger and better by broadening the advertising.

"Next year the goal would be to put on some prize money and attract people from all over Australia," he said.

"You would see some serious racing then."
