Children ready for a kick as popular program returns

Gareth McKnightBroome Advertiser

Broome's potential AFL stars of the future are ready to don their boots and go for a kick once more, as Auskick returns later this month.

The popular initiative for children aged five to eight is the first chance for a host of footy-mad youngsters to show off their budding skills.

Last season, more than 250 youngsters signed up for the season, with similar numbers expected this year.

For the first time, parents can sign their children up and pay online for the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre-hosted sport.

The first session will be on Friday, April 24 at 4.30pm, with subsequent meetings taking place on Saturday mornings.

Auskick co-ordinator Chelsea Cook said last season was a real success and she was looking to build on that this year.

The initiative is still open for children to register, while parents are urged to put themselves forward to volunteer in some capacity.

To register and pay, visit [www.afl auskick.com.au|www.afl auskick.com.au] or contact broome_auskick@hotmail.com for more information.
