Local families pulled out all the stops to impress judges with their spectacular festive handiwork last week for the Broome Advertiser Christmas lights competition.

Thirteen homes from Broome, Cable Beach, Roebuck Estate and Broome North took part in the competition and showed off their grand displays for a chance to win a top cash prize.

Judges, including representatives from Horizon Power, Leading Edge Computers, Mitre 10 and Betta Home Living, joined Broome Advertiser staff for a festive tour around town on board a Broome Top Deck Tours bus to check out this year's entries.

The Herbert family of 30 Glenister Loop took the crown for the fourth year running to win $1000 cash from Horizon Power.

Runner-up was 12 Manado Court.
