Close-run thing for Saturday winner

Saturday's golf competition saw Stableford player Ros Gogan the nett winner, closing with a score of 27 points, followed by runner-up Brett Donald and nett third Marty Littlewood also with 27 points.

Gross winner Trevor Jones came in with 22 points and claimed top spot for the Men’s Long Drive. Mike Gronenberg scored a total of 26 points, with a number of players including Judy Chappell, Peter Wrigley and Ron Payne scoring 25.

Sue Harper won the Women’s Long Drive, while Andrew Metcalf was the raffle winner.

A total of 17 players took part in the Women’s Scroungers competition last week, with Jo Jones the nett winner, followed by runner up Ann Smith and gross winner Jan Power. The longest putt 17 came from Deanne Street, while Juliet Coates won the second shot hole 17.

The Men’s Scroungers results saw Ron Highett claim top spot with a total of 23, with John Toovey Sr securing the runner-up place, followed by Glen King with 22.

The longest putt 18 was won by Mark Aspar, while Tony Hart claimed second shot 4.

Friday’s game saw Michael Jones scoring first place with a total of 23 points, followed by ball run winner Phil Marrs with 19 points. Mike Gronenberg scored 18 points while a number of players including Nev Hewitt and Charlie Amies scored 17 points.
