Community calls help police recover stolen furniture
A woman will appear in court this month charged with the theft of resort furniture worth $6000.
Senior Sergeant Brendon Barwick said police executed a search warrant at a Cable Beach residence last Wednesday after receiving information from a member of the public.
"Information provided to police indicated a large quantity of property stolen from Broome resorts and accommodation properties was at the address," he said.
Sen. Sgt Barwick said the search found various items which had allegedly been stolen from Bali Hai, the Pearle, Broome Beach Resort, Cable Beach Club Resort and the Kimberley Sands.
The property has since been returned to the owners.
A 38-year-old woman was charged with stealing and receiving offences, and has been bailed to appear in the Broome Magistrate's Court at the end of the month.
Sen. Sgt Barwick thanked the community for their assistance in keeping an eye out for the property.
He said, in particular, an anonymous caller provided "valuable information" which assisted police in the investigation and recovery of the items.
He urged people to be vigilant of any suspicious behaviour and report it to police.
