JANUARY

·Broome's best young cricketers excelled at the country week tournament in Perth, winning four of the six games they played.

·Young swimming star Shantel Miskin-Ripia was recognised for winning an unprecedented nine gold medals at the Pilbara Championships.

FEBRUARY

·East Kimberley footballer Waylen Manson was selected to star in Fox 8's reality television show The Recruit.

·Kimberley driver Kodee Brown retained his WA Super Sedan State Speedway title after racing his way to glory in Manjimup.

·Broome athlete Oskar Booth finished fourth in the gruelling 82km Cradle Mountain Run in Tasmania in a show of endurance.

·Casey Zepnick joined the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre as the new centre manager.

·Cricketer Rhonen Maher tasted Imarja Cup glory after he was selected to play in the WA indigenous cricket side, where he helped defeat NSW in the final.

MARCH

·Roller derby league Red Dirt Roller Dollz started a new chapter with the introduction of a junior program in Broome.

·Representatives from the WA Cricket Association visited Broome in an attempt to establish a Kimberley Regional Board.

·A group of Broome parents put their hands up to run the Auskick football program.

APRIL

·The Broome Heat masters' surfboat team finished third in the Australian National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Scarborough Beach.

·All eight West Kimberley Football League teams were in action in the Lightning Carnival, with Cable Beach claiming the crown for the third consecutive year.

MAY

·Cyclists descended on Broome for the Cable Beach Sprint. Brisbane's Tom Carson and Jill Rigney took the top male and female spots.

·Seth Lovell, 15, was selected in the State squad for the 2014 Australian Youth Ultimate Championships in Melbourne.

·Broome Tri Club athletes excelled at the Busselton half ironman, with Nicole Smyth, Donna Dixon and Janelle White all recording personal bests.

JUNE

·West Kimberley Football League's representative team took a back-to-back win against North Pilbara, winning by 50 points.

·Young swimmer Talara-Jade Dixon was the winner of the Statewide President's Swimmer Award after a spectacular few months competing in the sport.

·Bullets finished at the top of the Broome Touch Association A-grade ladder after an upset win against premiers Blackoutz.

·The Broome Netball Association's division 1 team were crowned back-to-back champions after a one-point grand final victory at the North West Championships in Karratha.

·Broome basketball side No Limits won the James Kelly Basketball Carnival for the second year running after finishing undefeated at the Karratha competition.
