Girls giddy up for beach polo glamour
Kimberley Girl models will swap the catwalk for pristine sands next weekend when they make a special appearance at Cable Beach Polo.
This is the second time Kimberley Girl will feature in the hallmark event after being snapped up by director Marilynne Paspaley last year.
Program co-ordinator Marlikka Perdrisat said it was exciting to bring models from around the region, including a participant from Port Hedland, and present them to a high-profile audience.
"It's amazing to be able to showcase our unique girls to the world," she said.
"Everyone comes in from all different parts ... last year we had Samantha Harris, Nicole Warne and endless fashion bloggers there; it was just a really high-end event."
The girls will model eclectic ensembles by Stellamax, from classic, elegant attire during a VIP fashion parade at the official welcome cocktail party at Pinctada McAlpine House on Friday night, to playful, everyday garments during a beach parade on Sunday.
Among the participants will be 2014 Kimberley Girl winner Nicola Torres, who said she was excited to be joining in this year.
"I saw a preview of last year's event and it looked like a really exciting, fun time on the beach and definitely is something to look forward to."
Making her debut on the catwalk will be 16-year-old aspiring dancer and model Shania Hunter, who is also thrilled to be part of the festival.
Ms Perdrisat said Perth photographer David Broadway would travel to Broome to snap the girls for the event.
Cable Beach Polo is free to watch beachside, but tickets are also available for the VIP marquee and Kimberley Beach Polo Lounge.
