Have your say on Old Broome plan
The community has just a few days left to have their say on a development plan for Old Broome.
Shire of Broome president Graeme Campbell said the strategy covered an area south of
Frederick Street and east of Herbert Street, extending to Roebuck Bay, and included Town
Beach, the Conti Foreshore and Demco.
"The vision of the council is for Old Broome to be a vibrant, accessible and equitable precinct that
respects the rich cultural heritage of the area and its natural environment," he said.
"Workshops were held in 2013 with a range of stakeholders and the wider community to get
input to the development of the strategy, and now that the draft strategy has been released,
Council is again seeking the community's views."
The draft Old Broome Development Strategy is now available to view at the Shire of Broome
Administration, Broome Public Library or online at www.broome.wa.gov.au and public
comments will be accepted until Thursday, May 15.
