Daryl Roberson knows he has the best office in Broome — even if he only uses it for about nine months a year.

For the past 12 years, from April to December, Mr Roberson hitches up his his trusty trailer full of surf and stand-up paddleboards, sun lounges, chairs, colourful umbrellas and heads for Cable Beach.

His hire business behind the Broome Surf Life Saving Club has been popular over the years with locals and tourists who want to say they have experienced the sun, surf and sand at one of the world’s most famous beaches.

Mr Roberson describes his job as a workplace in paradise “with optional playtime”.

This year has become more of a family affair, with wife and co-owner Angela helping her husband keep the customers happy.

“We are both looking forward to sunny days, light winds and clean waves,” Mr Roberson said from the Beach Hut.

He said beach fashions had changed over the years and this year was no exception, with bolder bikinis on show.

“It seems like Rio’s beach fashion statements have influenced women visiting Cable Beach this year,” he said.
