Kimberley police were out in force over the long weekend, sharing their successes on social media.

The posts come just weeks after Kimberley District Superintendent Allan Adams told the Broome Advertiser he strongly backed the use of social media.

On Saturday, Broome police posted on Facebook that they had charged a local man with possession with intent to sell and supply amphetamine and cannabis after a vehicle stop on Thursday and the subsequent execution of a search warrant.

They said they also “seized a crossbow, a quantity of ammunition and $45,000 cash hidden throughout the house”.

And today, they revealed four burglaries had been committed in Broome over the long weekend.

In all four incidents, the offender entered the premises through an unlocked or open door.

Last week, officers revealed they had located, arrested and charged two Broome men in relation to a burglary at the Roebuck Bay Hotel on May 31.

According to the social media post, the men were both bailed, with strict conditions, to appear before magistrates later this month.

The same day, officers said they’d charged two people with possession of 200 ecstasy tablets, with the pair also bailed and set to face magistrates in June.
