Men’s shed gets boost from freemasons

Broome Men’s Shed received a sound surprise when donations were made for their newly converted coaster bus.

Freemasons from the Roebuck Masonic Lodge donated a CD player and new headphones for BMS’ bus, which has been converted into a tram.

The vehicle is used not only by BMS but other local community organisations such as RML for various excursions.

RML member John Lee said the group decided to donate the items to BMS after using the bus to drive to Port Hedland and realised the vehicle could benefit from a CD player and headphones while out on the road.

The donations were made earlier this year, along with a first aid kit, and BMS president Clive Johnson said representatives attended one of the freemasons’ meetings this month to personally thank members for their generous gifts.

Mr Johnson said the new equipment has come in very handy and thanked RML for their support.

Mr Lee said the Freemasons’ Perth headquarters supported men’s shed throughout WA and said it was important to support community organisations like BMS, which played a vital role in supporting men’s wellbeing.
