‘Most interesting battle’

Veteran returning officer Ron Camp has described the battle for the seat of Kimberley as “the most interesting since Ernie Bridge challenged Alan Ridge in the 1970s”.

Mr Bridge, the Labor Party candidate at the 1977 State election, initially lost the vote to Liberal incumbent Mr Ridge, but successfully challenged the result in the Court of Disputed Returns.
