Local driver Chris Pavlovich has claimed his second Mt Barker Super Sedan Classic, after the 2015 edition ended in controversial circumstances at Les Gorman Park last Saturday afternoon.

Multiple former winner Gary Higgs won the 25-lap feature race but received a black flag when he entered the track late.

Despite crossing the line first, Higgs was subsequently disqualified from the race, preventing him from claiming his fifth Super Sedan Classic title, which handed the win to Pavlovich.

Marc Giancola, who returned to the super sedan ranks for the event, was prominent for much of the final before succumbing to mechanical woes after 22 laps.

Pavlovich was declared the official winner ahead of Nathan Masson and Ben Holland while Bert Vosbergen and Tony St Jack rounded out the top five.

Earlier in the event, Higgs won two heat races and the remaining preliminaries went to Masson, Giancola, Warren Hambley and Holland.

The big car demolition derby was won by Andy Hammersley while Ashley Herbert was the winner of the small car demolition derby to round out the 2014-15 season at Mt Barker.

Bill Penn won the production sedan final, Freddy Kinsella was too strong in the street stocks final and the junior sedan final was won by Lincoln Coleman.
