Shire calls for 2040 town visionaries

Broome Advertiser

The Shire of Broome has extended until the end of January its call for community champions to work with the shire as part of Broome2040.

Broome2040 aims to capture the community’s vision of what it wants the shire to be like in 30 years.

The shire will use a range of techniques and technologies to gather views and has a dedicated website.

One survey participant will win an iPad.

A key part of the project is forming a Champions group to work with the Shire as it encourages public submissions to identify and examine key issues and trends that will help shape the locality and its vision, and identify key projects.

Broome Shire president Graeme Campbell said the response so far had been excellent but it was a busy time of year and council wanted to allow more time for volunteers to put their names forward.

Anyone wishing to become a Broome2040 Community Champion should go to www.broome2040.com.au and fill out an online nomination form, or print it and submit it at the Shire of Broome offices.
