Skill development and enjoyment were the two main goals of this year's seven-a-side youth soccer campaign, with the season coming to an end last week.

Super Six were crowned as girls' champions, while Strikers were the pick of the boys' sides.

Competition co-ordinator Andy Chapman said the competition was played in the right fashion and that all involved enjoyed the season.

He also stated there were a number of young standout players that could now make the step up to senior soccer, and there was plenty of potential on show throughout the course of the season.

Some of Broome's brightest young soccer stars headed to Perth last month for a Football West-organised training camp, with the benefits evident locally.

Chapman said the teenagers who took part provided positive feedback about the experience.

Youth soccer will now take a break, with 11-a-side competitions starting later in the year.
