The latest round of the Shire of Broome workshop series brought local sporting codes together at the Broome ClubTalk Workshop.

The free program is run in association with the Department of Sport and Recreation, facilitated by Challenger Institute of Technology and focuses on providing clubs with a better online presence.

Shire of Broome club development officer Mike Doyle said the gathering focused on best-practice standards in social media, using communication plans, how-to guides for Facebook and Twitter and lectures from Challenger about support for clubs after the workshop.

“These are very beneficial for clubs and social media is pretty valuable,” he said.

“I know the gymnastics club have already been involved using apps (TidyHQ and TeamApp) and the general attendance at the workshops has been encouraging, with good numbers so far.”
