Sub-committee to help juniors earn their footy stripes
A new junior football sub-committee formed last week under the umbrella of the Derby Tigers Football Club.
The process will start with Auskick and junior football for terms two and three at Derby District High School and the Holy Rosary Primary School.
This marks the start of a succession plan for Derby Tigers and will pave the way for children to be introduced to football. It will also give children a pathway once they leave school to go into the football club and be part of the West Kimberley Football League.
The sub-committee will be headed by Sonny Ozies, who currently runs Auskick at school through the Clontarf Foundation.
DTFC president Allen Archer said this was a wonderful achievement for junior football and commended Mr Ozies and parents for driving it.
