Broome fight enthusiasts will get the chance to spar with a 10-time world kickboxing champion later this month when John Wayne "The Gunslinger" Parr visits the town.

After starting out his career in taekwondo, the Australian fighter spent four years living and training in Thailand and has become a feared Muay Thai combatant.

His last title was in the World Kickboxing Association World Middleweight grading, which he relinquished last year.

After attracting renowned Perth boxer Danny Green to the region last year, ATI Martial Arts Broome instructor Tristan Johnson has arranged for two highly anticipated seminars with Parr on Saturday, May 23.

"After having Danny in Broome last year, I was wracking my brain to see who else we could invite to the town and I have always been a fan of The Gunslinger," he said.

"To get insight and advice from someone of that standing is a unique opportunity."

A one-hour session with youngsters will be held at 5pm, followed by a two-hour stint with adults.

Both seminars will be held at ATI's Dojang at 4 Clementson Street.
