A lotto ticket bought at the Fitzroy Crossing supermarket could lead to riches for one lucky punter.

The owner of the ticket for the January 14 Saturday Lotto draw is in line to win $423,000 after it was revealed it was one of three division-one winners in WA and 10 in Australia.

John Rodrigues, chief operations officer for Leedal, which runs the Tarunda IGA at Fitzroy Crossing, said the announcement was causing quite a stir within the West Kimberley community.

“We’ve sold a number of minor winners, like $15,000 or $5000, but we had never sold a division-one winner,” he said.

“It’s great for the town – we had our new shopping centre built in December 2010, and now, just over 12 months later, it’s proving to be a lucky spot.

“But the ticket hasn’t been presented, although a few people have tried, so there is still a bottle of champagne here ready to celebrate.”
