Nicola KalmarBroome Advertiser

A 42-year-old woman was charged with grievous bodily harm last week in relation to the death of a 27-year-old Broome man.

Police were called to a unit around 8.35am on Wednesday in Forrest Street and found the man dead on the back porch with multiple stab wounds.

Specialists from the forensic crime scene unit flew to Broome last week to assist detectives with the investigation.

Police alleged the woman, believed to be the man’s housemate, was with him at Kennedy Hill the night before.

St John Ambulance volunteers were called to the Forrest Street house the next morning where they found the man and attempted to revive him. He died at the scene.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Baddock said the death was violent and tragic.

The woman appeared in Broome Magistrate’s Court last Thursday charged with aggravated grievous bodily harm.

Detectives are still calling for witnesses who were in the Kennedy Hill Community on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday and in the Forrest Street area in the early hours of December 12.

Anyone who can assist in this investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
