A 23-year-old woman without a valid licence was charged twice within two hours for driving with an alcohol reading in excess of 0.08.

Officers said the second time she was pulled over in Broome, there was a young child in the vehicle.

Police initially stopped the car she was driving on Gubinge Road 12.10am today for a random breath test where she allegedly returned a positive roadside sample.

The woman was charged with driving with an alcohol level in excess of 0.08% and driving whilst not the holder of a valid licence after presenting another positive breath sample at Broome Police Station.

Less than two hours later at 1.50am, police spotted the same vehicle being driven in the Cable Beach area.

The same driver again allegedly provided a positive roadside breath test and subsequent positive test at the police station.

She was charged with driving with a blood alcohol in excess of 0.08%.

Sergeant Paul World said the woman’s car was seized for 28 days for driving contrary to a disqualification notice issued to her for the earlier alleged offence.
