Vodafone outage: Customers in Perth hit by network issue on Tuesday afternoon

Some Vodafone customers were unable to make calls or access their data on Tuesday afternoon after the network was hit by an outage.

Down Detector reported a spike in problems about 12.30pm, with customers’ phones shows SOS only.

The major Australian telecommunications company confirmed the outage impacted a small number of customers.

“Three of our mobile sites in Perth are currently affected by power outages due to recent pole-top fires in the area,” a spokesperson said.

“These power outages have caused intermittent disruptions to voice and data services for a very small number of Vodafone customers.

“We are working with emergency services and power utilities to restore power and service as quickly and safely as possible.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.”
