Anne Street house fire suspicious
Arson detectives will investigate a suspicious house fire that burned down a property on Anne Street early this morning.
It is understood the fire was lit just before 7am and has now been contained.
Broome Police Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Les Andrews said the fire looked to be deliberately lit that allegedly related to a family violence matter.
He said nobody was injured and all residents of the home had been accounted for.
“We have declared it a protected forensic area and are currently going through various witness statements,” he said.
Snr Sgt Andrews said the extent of damage equated to about $200,000.
He said WA Police Arson Squad would fly to Broome today to investigate.
