Brookton bushfire: Blaze 3km north of Brookton now contained and under control

A bushfire burning between Great Southern Highway and Youraling Road in the Shire of Brookton has been contained and is under control.
Three volunteer teams from Brookton West, Beverley and Pingelly are working with local farm units to strengthen containment lines and extinguish the blaze, which was reported at 9.08am on Monday.
An advice warning issued at 10.26am remains in place for people bound by Smart Road, Roses Road, Symes Road, Corberding Road, Brookton Highway, Langley Road, west of Matingly Road and Boyagarra Road.
The fire is still burning about 3km north of the Brookton town site, however the Department of Fire and Emergency Services has advised that no homes or property are under immediate threat.
Further advice published at 3.58pm confirmed the fire was contained and controlled.
All roads remain open, however DFES advises drivers to slow down and drive carefully through the area.
