Broome cyclist taken to hospital

A male cyclist has been taken to Broome Hospital in a serious condition after an accident involving a car in Broome.

A police spokesman said a serious traffic accident happened between the cyclist and a white Toyota Prado four-wheel-drive at about 8.10am this morning at the corner of Gubinge Road and Sayonara Road in Cable Beach.

The road was temporarily closed this morning but has since been reopened.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and encourage anyone with information to call Broome Police Station on 9194 0200
