Cyclist in hospital after collision

A cyclist is in a serious condition after an accident involving a car in Broome this morning.

Police said the rider was in collision with a car at about 10am on Old Broome Road, near Fairway Drive.

Sergeant Trent Langthorn said the cyclist was in a serious condition in Broome Hospital and police were awaiting medical tests.

Sgt Langthorn said a person was in police custody assisting with inquiries.

Traffic management remains in place near the intersection between Old Broome Road and Fairway Drive while officers investigate.
