If your resolution’s a revolution, 2017’s the year
If your new year’s resolution is to hop on the bike this year, Broome has you covered, with the Century Ride 2017 scheduled this month.
The 100km jaunt from Zanders Restaurant to Coconut Wells, Willie Creek, 12 Mile and back, or the 45km return excursion to Coconut Wells, are scheduled to leave at 5am on Sunday, January 29.
The Century challenge consists of a self-supported social ride with water stops.
The ride is the first of many West Kimberley cycling events planned for 2017, with the annual Bike Week Breakfast arranged for March 18.
It will feature solo or group participants riding throughout the town to the Broome Visitors’ Centre from 6.30pm for a free breakfast finale.
Broome Tri Sports Association Inc was one of 17 regional and 23 metropolitan events to benefit from the Bike Week 2017 Grant program.
The association received $300 of a requested $500 towards the event.
