The Islanders made a promising start to the new season of beach volleyball with a determined win over the Sandy Badgers.

Beach volleyball began its 2018 season on February 7 at Victory Life Church, with plenty of players eager to get back into the swing of things.

The opening set saw a fairly even start, with the Islanders and the Sandy Badgers matching each other point for point.

However, serves falling short of the net proved to be the Sandy Badgers’ downfall, as the Islanders won the set.

The Islanders maintained their lead as the second set began but the Sandy Badgers were able to get back on their feet and attempt a comeback.

Despite the Sandy Badgers creeping up on their tail, the Islanders clinched the victory within two sets. But the Sandy Badgers were not completely down and out, winning the third set of the match. Volleyball is Life, Beta Blockers, Old Guns and Knocked Up all managed to defeat their respective opponents two sets to one.
