Two crocodiles were spotted at popular fishing spots in Broome last night.

In an online statement, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions Parks and Wildlife Service Kimberley said the animals were sighted during a patrol of the Broome Crocodile Control zone.

One crocodile, believed to be 2.8m, was sighted at Dampier Creek, with a smaller 1.8m reptile in the waters of Catalina’s, near Town Beach.

The statement said crocodile traps would be installed this week, with plans for other spotlight patrols on larger tides.

Those with details about the location and direction of travel of crocodiles are asked to call 9195 5500.
