Shock turned to joy when 7NEWS’ Charlotte Goodlet and ex-AFL star Kieren Jack learned they’re having twins.

There was shock — and then excitement — when 7NEWS presenter Charlotte Goodlet and former AFL star Kieren Jack were told they were expecting twins. Sharing their exciting news with The West Australian, the couple said they were genuinely surprised, with no other twins in their families. “We found out at the six-week scan and we just both kind of burst into laughter,” Goodlet said. “It was a massive surprise and I feel like we’re still wrapping our heads around it a little bit but it’s exciting.” Jack, who works at West Coast in an off-field role, said he could not wait to meet the twins. “It was shock initially you don’t go into that scan thinking that you’re going to have twins but then very quickly it was excitement,” he said. With their son Alfie in tow, the couple moved to Perth to be closer to family and friends in 2023, leaving their life on the East Coast behind after more than a decade. For WA-raised journalist Goodlet, being closer to family as their own brood grows is a welcome reprieve. “We’ll be needing all the help we can get this time around as it’ll be full on,” she said. “We’re going to have three under three so life is going to be busy but we moved back to Perth for that reason to raise a family and we thought Perth would be a fantastic place to do it,” Jack added. Two-year-old Alfie is still not so sure about twins saying “like babies, no like twins” when he is asked but the couple know he is going to be a great big brother. “Alfie’s got a really beautiful temperament,” Goodlet said. “I think he’ll be really great so I’m looking forward to see him become a brother.” The pair don’t know the genders of their babies yet but know they’re fraternal twins, meaning they could be different genders, or the same. Goodlet joked that they would be finding out the genders at a scan as finding out they were having twins was enough surprise for one pregnancy. “I feel like we’ve already joined a really lovely, special twins club that is just so beautiful and open with advice and also just making us really excited for it,” she said.
